Quotes from Talents Homemaking Lesson

Decided to make this page about our lessons in Relief Society. The First is a few quotes from my lesson at our "Purse-uit of Excellence" Homemaking activity we had in May. Enjoy

President Hinckley has eloquently captured what the Lord has repeatedly inspired His servants to say of His precious daughters;
“Woman is God’s supreme creation. Only after the earth had been formed, after the day had been separated from the night, after the waters had been divided from the land, after vegetation and animal life had been created, and after man had been placed on the earth, was woman created; and only then was the work pronounced complete and good.
“Of all the creations of the Almighty, there is none more beautiful, none more inspiring than a lovely daughter of God who walks in virtue with an understanding of why she should do so, who honors and respects her body as a thing sacred and divine, who cultivates her mind and constantly enlarges the horizon of her understanding, who nurtures her spirit with everlasting truth.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do, not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is increased.”
“Use what talents you possess: The woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang the best.” Henry Van Dyke
“Nobody’s a natural. You work hard to get good and then work hard to get better.” unknown

“Our talents are the gift that God gives to us..What we make of our talents is our Gift back to God.” Leo Buscaglia
